The current subseasonal forecasting system of the Hydrometcentre of Russia was put into operation in November 2023 after 1-year operational evaluation. The system is based on global atmospheric model SL-AV.
Following by SC-WIPPS/Expert Team on Operational Climate Prediction System compliance review, EC-78 approved Roshydromet application for GPC-SSP status in June 2024.
Subseasonal forecast maps for near-surface temperature, precipitation, mean sea level pressure, temperature at 850 hPa surface, 500hPa surface height can be viewed at website of the Lead Centre for SubSeasonal Prediction Multi-Model Ensemble (currently the hindcast period is 1993-2009) or the North Eurasia Climate Centre (currently the hindcast period is 1991-2015).
Forecast range: 46 days.
